Official Opening and Dedication of BPCC
The Bev Pratt Chaplaincy Centre was officially opened and dedicated on Sunday, January 31st 2021.
Around 60 guests from many of Ballarat's Uniting Church congregations, from Synod and Presbytery, as well as other invited guests attended the Service. Led by Rev. Dr. Graeme Sutton and Presbytery Chairperson Andrew Boatman, the service spoke of the chaplaincy ministry so far and the hope for things to come. The sign was unveiled and door ceremonially unlocked by the Rev. (Deacon) Bev Pratt herself. Bev was hospital chaplain to Ballarat Base Hospital from 1978 to her retirement in 2000. She was instrumental in forging a strong pastoral link between the hospital and the church and laid the foundation for the work of healthcare chaplaincy that has continued in various formats since. |
