In late 2018, the decision was made to explore other options for our home base. With the knowledge that the minister's residence (the Manse) at Brown Hill might be a possibility, Chaplaincy, Brown Hill UCA and the Presbytery of Western Victoria worked together to create a new space for ministry.
From Easter 2020 onward, the Manse at Brown Hill will become known as The Chaplaincy Centre (working title).
It will be the new home base for the Chaplaincy ministry, continuing the administration, training, meeting, resourcing and supporting that this ministry provides.
We look forward to developing the Chaplaincy Centre into a vibrant hub for ministry across Ballarat and the Presbytery.
The Chaplaincy Centre: A new beginning in 2020
Since 2013, the 'home base' for the Chaplaincy ministry had been Wendouree Uniting Church. Team meetings, training, hospitality, brainstorming and many cups of coffee had happened in that place.
It was with sadness that the congregation in Wendouree closed in 2019 and that meant Chaplaincy needed to find a new home.
We are thankful and grateful to the congregation of Wendouree Uniting Church for giving Chaplaincy a home for so long.
